With the Arc-Wizard gone, a new one must take on the mantle. But no matter if the Old Archwizard is alive or dead, Arion feels the burden of his approval crashing onto his shoulders. And in the wake of this, Arion can barely control his magic, let alone manage to work without breaking something.

A chance meeting with Therin, a man with suspiciously sharp-skills and a smile that betrays nothing, reignites Arion’s need to be useful. From look at Arion’s struggling magic, Therin knows there’s something foul lurking beneath it. And try as he might, Therin can no longer deny the part he has to play.

With the policies of the new Arcwizard looming over them, as magic fluctuates and swells unnaturally, and the Guilds scramble for more power- Arion and Therin work towards their own goals.

But as their stories intertwine, will Therin accept his role as Arion’s mentor?
