In the year 3016, a group of Swedish scientists discovered intergalactic travel. The United Nations quickly stepped in and unified the planet to use this new technology for the benefit of the planet as a whole. Numerous test travels were conducted until the first multinational mission was undertaken. The historic first jump found themselves coming out of hyperspace in the midst of a war between two worlds.
